Opportunities

Interested in joining our lab? Take a look at available opportunities below.

Undergraduate volunteers:

Data analysis: We are interested in recruiting undergraduate students to work on a project that utilizes existing data for further exploration of brain networks in autism, including growth and development trends over time. There is no patient contact, and it is a “dry lab” (computers only). There is tremendous potential for self-driven AI applications using an extremely large well-characterized database. This project requires independent work in addition to structured learning.

Our Undergraduate Research Assistants have opportunities to present posters of their analyses at local and national conferences including the UF College of Medicine Celebration of Research, the Society for Neuroscience (SFN), and the International Society for Autism Research (INSAR).

VR project: Current opening for highly motivated student with a passion for VR, gaming, or coding to contribute to the creation of a virtual MRI environment, helping patients acclimate to the MRI scanner experience. Future goals include developing immersive environments to aid individuals with cognitive disabilities in navigating the world.

Graduate students:

Potential opportunities for Computer Science Masters students to get involved.

Postdoctoral research opportunities:

Potential opportunities for ADOS-2 trained post-doctoral level research fellow to aid with NIH-funded ACE study.
